Pramila Nath – Leading Fashion Designer

Pramila Nath is a hard working and cheerful professional. She is one of the most distinguished alumni of Ruchi’s Institute of Creative Arts. She joined the institute in the early nineties when pursuing fashion was a taboo. Fighting against all odds, she enrolled for the 2 year course in Fashion Designing and successfully completed it in1994. She has been an inspiration to many since then. It is her jolly and optimistic nature that serves as a catalyst for her success. Today she is happily married to Mr. Vatsal Nath and is blessed with two daughters but her belief in breaking old stereotypes is what keeps her aiming for the stars. Who said that a woman cannot manage her career and household simultaneously? Pramila does it and that too wonderfully. She has turned out to be one of the most successful fashion designers of Allahabad against all odds.


Gradually, her business gained momentum. She then became a known face of the city’s fashion market. In order to expand her business, she worked really hard and the result is a successfully running boutique. Today, she has 22 tailors apart from the embroiderers and dyers. According to her, she wouldn’t have expanded her business, if she had the support of her husband. She states, My husband was the backbone of my journey. I wouldn’t have had achieved anything without his constant support.

Current Ventures

Pramila’s business is booming. Her vision is to dress the entire nation with her creations. Her expertise lies in ethnic wears. Her boutique showcases a wide range of designer suits and lehengas but it is the classic style of saris and blouses that sets her apart from the others in the city. Her boutique also specializes in embroidered men attires, sherwanis and ethnic zardosi work.

Role of RICA in her journey

Pramila has a soft corner in her heart for the institute. According to her, the learning time spent there has helped her throughout her fashion journey. It was the valuable academic lessons about fashion that inspired her to work creatively and efficiently.
