Urmila: A student trained under the Prime Minister's Skill Development Scheme

Urmila, a resident of Village Chak Kriparam, Mama Bhanja Talab, Prayagraj, was constantly striving to achieve her dreams. Her financial condition was very modest, and she didn’t get the opportunity for higher education. But Urmila had strong determination.

She got a chance to receive training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). She completed the Skilled Employable Tailor (SET) course from Ruchis Institute of Creative Art, Prayagraj. During this course, she learned important skills like stitching, cutting, designing, and soft skills. The 420-hour training not only boosted her confidence but also sharpened her abilities.

After the training, Urmila started a small-scale tailoring business from home. Slowly, her hard work paid off, and she became well-known in that her small area for stitching traditional women’s clothing.

Urmila believes that if someone works sincerely and makes the most of government schemes, success is sure to come. Every woman should recognize her skills and improve them. Initiatives like the PMKVY, combined with the right direction and hard work, provide a golden opportunity to transform lives.
