Success story of Shanti
Shanti: a student trained under the Prime Minister's Skill Development Scheme
Shanti Prajapati comes from a simple rural background. Despite having limited financial resources, she was determined to become self-reliant. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), she completed a 300-hour Sewing Machine Operator (SMO) training course at Ruchi's Institute of Creative Art Polytechnic, Prayagraj.
During the training, Shanti learned various skills like stitching, embroidery, designing, and fabric finishing. After completing the course, she started her own business, "Suhani Silai Centre", where she now works independently. Through this center, she not only supports herself but also inspires other women in her community.
Today, Shanti Prajapati stands on her own feet and has even employed two more women to work with her. She earns a good income from tailoring and dreams of expanding her sewing center in the future to provide employment opportunities to more women.
Shanti Prajapati’s journey shows that with the right guidance and government support, any woman can become self-reliant. By successfully utilizing the PMKVY scheme, she has become an inspiration for society and fulfilled the mission of skill development.
